"Your Mission Statement Isn't Doing What It Could For Your Business"

Updated: Oct 12, 2020

I've read a lot of mission statements. Most big companies have them, usually on their “About” pages. And the majority of my consulting clients have one, too.

They contain a lot of nice sentiments, a lot of nice words: “Best practices...Highest Quality of Care...Striving for Excellence...Treating Clients Like Family."

But most of them don’t DO anything. They don’t inspire anyone. They don’t MOVE anyone.

And they certainly aren’t very memorable.

Most of the time, staff only have a vague recollection of something they read in the employee manual. Usually the doctor doesn’t even remember it. When I ask what it is, they have to pull it out and refresh their memory. Let's just say not, "front of mind."

And yet…crafting a concise, powerful mission statement is hands-down the most cost-effective, powerful way to increase staff morale and productivity you could possibly do. Taking the time to do so will pay for itself over and over and over again.

Why? Because your mission statement is the lifeblood of your business. It’s WHY you’re doing what you’re doing, your purpose.

And if you get it right, if you come up with a concise, memorable way to express that purpose, for real, it will truly INSPIRE your staff, and give meaning to their lives. It will get them up and out of the day to day grind of just “doing their job,” and remind them that what are doing actually MATTERS. It will elevate what they’re doing.

More importantly, it will do that for YOU.

Literally nothing will raise morale and productivity more than getting that right. Want to know the secrets to creating a really good one?

I’m doing a special webinar, in conjunction with The Practice Solution, to show you how. It will be based on my experience consulting professional practices and business owners all over the country, and will also involve key principles of storytelling that come from my years as a screenwriter in Hollywood. Because your mission statement is actually how you tell YOUR story to your patients, your staff, and yourself. Do it right, and everyone who hears it will want to be part of that story.

So, find out how. Come to: “How To Craft A Powerful Mission Statement”.
